Gramonnati Continues to serve those in need

With the help of our donors,Gramonnati working with its sister company, Gratitude Farms have been able to deliver fresh and organic vegetables and fruit to so far five institutions. Despite all the challenges caused by the lockdown the team has been doing all that is in its power to maintain regular supply of nutritious produce to the elderly and children. The restrictions put on our work has only made us more motivated and committed to our mission. In last three weeks or so,we have delivered nearly 1.5 tons of fresh, organic vegetables.

 Vishranthi old-woman’s home, palavakkam, ECR, Chennai

Vishranthi,home for the aged was started in 1978 as a project of Monday (Charity) Club. Vishranthi caters to destitute women over 60 years of age, who have none to care. It provides food, shelter, clothing, medicines, and over and above, compassion and honorable end.

Sri Poornamahameru, Pallavara, Chennai

Sri Poorna Maha Meru Trust is a non-profit charitable Non Governmental organization (NGO). This free old age home or MuthiyorIllam “Sri Chandrashekara Kripa” for elderly destitute senior citizens has been functioning since 1996. It runs a free old age home and Annadanam center and is open irrespective of any religion,caste or creed provided that the elderly meet the basic admission criteria.

This institution also provides free food to whoever walks in (in times of lockdown it is mostly health workers and police officers. Additionally, they are also undertaking thedistribution of food packets near Trust’s premises on a limited scale.

Karunyam Orphanage, Chennai

Karunyam Orphanage is a small institution that aimstoprovide home for destitute children. They admit both boys and girls who are totally resorted and need support and care to lead their lives. Caretakers in the orphanage provide them with food, shelter, clothing, medicine, and education. They make sure that these children grow in a homely atmosphere with adequate nutrition and healthy social interactions.

ST Cluny’s Hospice and Home for Elderly, Pondicherry

St Cluny’s Hospice and Home for Elderly was established in 1894 and has been for the last 126 years housing and caring for the destitute and aged men & women from Pondicherry. It is open to all irrespective of caste and creed and it provides medical, social, emotional, and practical support to the admitted elderly.

Rainbow Foundation Trust – Orphanage, Pondicherry

This small institution in Pondicherry is a home for intellectually and physically disabled children. It offers a comfortable, nurturing environment for children and young adults who need round-the-clock supervision or medical care. Their home-like environments, caring staff members, and emphasis on community involvement and recreational activities provide an inviting place for children and young adults with special healthcare needed to enjoy full lives.
